About the Congressional Youth Cabinet
Congressman Deutch is passionate about engaging young people in the democratic process because his own interest in public service started at a young age. He launched the Congressional Youth Cabinet (CYC) to provide high school students in Florida's 22nd with a unique opportunity to engage in the policy-making process and better understand how Congress works. The CYC is a nonpartisan program designed to foster a commitment to civic engagement and public service. As one of just two programs of its kind in the country, students accepted into the CYC meet with the Congressman several times a year to participate in legislative simulations, community service events, lectures with guest speakers, and policy debates.
