For Veterans

When our brave veterans return home, we have a responsibility to help provide them with access to jobs and education. I am proud to have helped to pass a new Post-9/11 GI Bill. After World War II, thousands of veterans, including my father, had the chance to pursue higher education thanks to the Montgomery GI Bill. Now we can fulfill the same promise to our heroes from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Anyone who served for at least 90 days after September 10, 2001 or was discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days is eligible for benefits under the new Post 9/11 GI Bill. The legislation provides a full four year college education to those who served at least three years after September 10, 2001. I'm proud that veterans coming home today will get to benefit from this great opportunity.
