U.S. Congressman Rick W. Allen (R-Ga-12) issued the following statement after President Donald Trump signed H.R. 3946 into law, legislation sponsored by Congressman Allen to rename the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) community-based outpatient clinic in Statesboro, Georgia, the “Ray Hendrix Department of Veterans Affairs Clinic.”

“Sergeant Major Ray Hendrix committed his life to serving our nation and defending the freedoms that we, as Americans, are so blessed to have,” said Congressman Rick Allen. “After forty-two years of fearless and dedicated service, Sergeant Major Hendrix made it his duty to give back to the veterans’ community in Georgia by being an effective and valued board member of the State Veterans Service Board, fighting to establish the Statesboro VA Clinic, serving as an active voice in the American Legion, and much more. I can think of no one better to have their name honored at the local VA clinic in Bulloch County.

“I am thrilled that we were able to get this legislation across the finish line to officially rename this facility to the Ray Hendrix Department of Veterans Affairs Clinic and I have no doubt that Ray Hendrix’s name and legacy will live on for generations to come with the quality care that this clinic will continue to provide to our nation’s bravest.”
