Tax Reform
I am in favor of the Fair Tax, which would bring lower, simpler rates across the board. We can level the playing field for everyone to achieve the American Dream, and allowing hardworking taxpayers to take home more of their paychecks is a way to start.
While we work towards a fairer and simpler tax code, I will work to lower corporate and capital gains rates so American businesses can be confident and competitive again.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Ted S. Yoho (R-FL) voted in favor of passing the Conference Report for the Tax Cut and Jobs Act – (HR 1). Today’s vote sends the bill back to the Senate for final passage and then onto the president’s desk to be signed into law. Congressman Yoho released the following statement:
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Ted S. Yoho (R-FL) voted in favor of H.R. 1 -the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The House bill to reform our nation’s outdated tax code passed by a vote of 227 to 205. Congressman Yoho released the following statement:
“Today’s vote takes us one step closer to meaningful tax reform that will benefit all Americans and our economy. I want to thank Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady and the full committee staff for all their hard work and heavy lifting.
The United States tax code has over 70,000 pages and roughly 3 to 4 million words. It is complicated, filled with special-interest loopholes, makes our companies less competitive and costs Americans countless hours in productivity just to file their returns. House Republicans want to change all of that.

This bipartisan bill - H.R. 1105 – Death Tax Repeal Act – will help a wide range of Americans, especially family farms, ranches and small businesses. Repealing this unfair tax ends a busy legislative week that saw the passage of seven bills that will rein in and reform the IRS.

H.R. 3076, the James Madison Congressional Accountability Act, requires Members of Congress, all congressional staff, the President, Vice President, and political appointees enroll in the Affordable Care Act exchanges. It also limits any subsidies to those that would similarly be available to the general public.
