The Senate confirmed the Mattis nomination by a vote of 98-1.

 

Following the vote, Senator McConnell asked unanimous consent that following disposition of the Kelly nomination, the Senate confirm Mike Pompeo to be Director of the Central Intelligence Agency by unanimous consent.

 

Senator Wyden objected.

 

The Senate then reached an agreement to vote on the motion to proceed to consideration of the Pompeo nomination tonight; that following Leader remarks on Monday, January 23^rd, there be 6 hours of debate on the nomination, equally divided, and that upon the use or yielding back of time, the Senate vote on confirmation of the Pompeo nomination.
