WASHINGTON, DC –Representative Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) issued the following statement on Hispanic Heritage Month, which ends today.
“This month all Americans had the opportunity to reflect on Hispanic values. The Hispanic Dream, one of a better, more prosperous future, is the American Dream. During Hispanic Heritage Month, we honored the Hispanic community and paid tribute to their extraordinary contributions to American history.
“Economically, culturally, and politically, Latinos are a vital part of our Nation and the Eleventh Congressional District of Ohio. Over many generations, life in Northeast Ohio has been enriched by Hispanic contributions in business, education, government, and the arts. Hispanic led organizations continue to positively impact our community. For example, non-profits like Esperanza, work to ensure that all children, regardless of their native language, will have the skills necessary to compete and succeed in America.
"I am proud to celebrate the contributions and heritage of the Eleventh District's Hispanic community who endeavor to enjoy the American Dream."
