Veterans

One of my greatest responsibilities is to honor the service and sacrifice of our service members and their families, and this is a commitment that I take very seriously. Our veterans earned the benefits they receive, and I will work to ensure they receive what they were promised.

Veterans have a unique set of health care needs and deserve to receive the highest quality of care at our VA hospitals. I remain concerned that too many veterans are not getting the care they need from the VA. I support making smart, targeted reforms to the VA to increase the quality of care and accountability. No veteran should ever be forced to wait for months to be seen by a doctor, and I will continue to hold the agency accountability for their actions.

After their time in the military, our veterans simply want to make the transition into civilian life. I remain focused on making sure veterans have access to education opportunities and good paying jobs in their post-service life. Our veterans should have the chance to be as successful in civilian life as they were in the military.

Finally, I place the utmost priority on constituent service requests, particularly those related to veterans. Whether it is help with a denied benefit claim, trouble at the VA, wading through government red tape, or any other issue, I encourage you to reach out to my office. We are here to assist you and to make sure you receive the benefits you deserve.

The freedoms we all enjoy are a direct result of centuries of selfless sacrifice by our men and women of the Armed Forces. We must uphold our commitment to them with the same selfless dedication. I will continue to support our service members, veterans, and their families before, during, and after their service.
