Paulsen Statement on the Death of Fidel Castro

Washington, D.C.– Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) released the following statement after the death of Fidel Castro:

“The death of Fidel Castro, a brutal dictator for half a century who oppressed so many Cuban people through human rights violations, brings the opportunity for a new era with Cuba,” said Congressman Paulsen. “Hopefully, this opens the door to accelerate additional engagement and stronger economic ties between the United States and Cuba.”

Congressman Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation, serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the bicameral Joint Economic Committee, and is co-chair of the Congressional Medical Technology Caucus.
