Paulsen Statement on Rep. John Kline's Decision to Not Seek Re-Election

Washington, D.C.– Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) released the following statement regarding Rep. John Kline’s decision to not seek re-election in 2016.

“I’m disappointed to hear that my friend and colleague, Congressman John Kline, will not be seeking re-election next year. During his time in Congress, John Kline has been a leader on education and defense issues, and a tireless champion for our veterans. John’s tenure in the U.S. House represents one chapter in a lifetime of service to his country, including a 25-year career in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served two Presidents as a military aide. I want to thank John for his friendship and guidance, and I know I speak for many of my colleagues in saying he will be sorely missed in Congress.”

Congressman Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation, serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the bicameral Joint Economic Committee, and is co-chair of the Congressional Medical Technology Caucus.
