Congresswoman Jenkins Tours Cessna Plant, one of Kansas' biggest exporters
TPP: Our great state of Kansas is heavily dependent on global trade for our economic well-being. In 2014 export sales from Kansas totaled $12 billion and one in five Kansas jobs depend on international trade. Kansas companies involved in trade grow faster and pay more than ‘domestic only’ manufacturers. With this in mind, I am committed to finding new markets for Kansas agriculture, aircraft and other manufactured goods to see our state thrive.
When Congress passed the Trade Promotion Authority this past summer, it included a requirement that the text of all trade agreements be made public for 60 days before Congress is allowed to vote on them.
The text of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is now available at the following website: https://ustr.gov/trade-agreements/free-trade-agreements/trans-pacific-partnership/TPP-Full-Text.
Please join me in reviewing the details of the TPP and let me know your thoughts by contacting me or any of my offices.
