Service Academy Nominations
Each year, Congressman Thompson can nominate outstanding high school graduates from the Fifth Congressional District of California for appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York; the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland; the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York. Below are links to download the forms used by Congressman Thompson’s office to evaluate applicants requesting a nomination to the academies. Please complete these forms or have them completed by others, as appropriate, and return them to Congressman Thompson’s office by November 15th, 2016. All paperwork will be reviewed and if qualified, the candidate will be scheduled for an interview before the Congressman's Academy Review Panel in early December. The nominees will then be notified the beginning of December if they have received a nomination. If nominated and offered an appointment by an academy, will be attending an academy reception held in May, where he/she will be joined by his/her fellow incoming cadets for 2017. High school seniors or unmarried high school graduates who are 22 years old or younger can request a nomination by submitting a letter of interest to our Santa Rosa District Office or by calling (707) 542-7182.
