It’s almost as if it’s a prerequisite for any Democrat legislation: If it leads to more job loss, they’ll pass it. Americans are tired of this kind of ‘reform.' Job stifling taxes, regulations, government intrusion.
`If ever there was an indictment of this administration's economic agenda it was yesterday's press conference. The administration asked taxpayers to foot the bill on a trillion dollar stimulus that he claimed would create 4 million jobs. A year and a half later the President is standing with three chronically unemployed Americans, some of the victims of a 9.5% unemployment rate, asking taxpayers for $34 billion more in deficit spending to continue paying their unemployed benefits.’

Washington, DC – U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made the following statement Monday on the flooding that hit Kentucky over the weekend:

“Severe flooding has again struck in my home state of Kentucky, with significant damage in Shelby and Pike Counties. Last night, Governor Beshear declared a state of emergency in both counties.  The flash flooding killed two people in Pike County and damaged numerous homes and knocked out water and power to thousands of Kentuckians, and officials say residents could be without water for a week.

“If the Governor decides to seek a major disaster declaration from the President to help recover from the flooding, I will do what I can to assist him. Our focus remains on the families of the victims and those who have been hardest hit by this tragedy and our gratitude goes out to the emergency personnel rendering aid.”
