We Must Grow Opportunity, Not Government
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Tom Rice (SC-07) today released the following statement on President Obama’s FY2016 Budget:
“The President is attempting to sell his budget as a plan to help lift the middle-class, but his claim is simply not true,” said Congressman Rice. “To improve the lives of all Americans—especially the middle-class—we must grow opportunity, not government. Instead of putting forth a budget that balances, saves taxpayers’ money, and lowers costs for American families, the President’s budget does the opposite—it spends more, taxes more, and attempts to expand the government’s role in our lives. My colleagues and I on the House Budget Committee look forward to developing a budget that balances, makes fiscal sense, and truly helps middle-class families.”
