Paulsen Statement on the Bipartisan Congressional Trade Priorities and Accountability Act

Washington, D.C.– Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) released the following statement on the Bipartisan Congressional Trade Priorities and Accountability Act.

“This bipartisan compromise puts the U.S. in the best position to negotiate trade deals that are effective, fair, and enforceable,” said Paulsen. “With over 775,000 jobs in Minnesota that rely on trade, we should embrace new opportunities for American businesses to sell goods and services in the global marketplace and create more high-paying jobs here at home. With 96% of the world’s consumers outside of our borders, establishing good trade deals is essential in putting U.S. manufacturers and farmers on a level playing field.”

More information on the agreement is available here. Paulsen serves as a member of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade and is the co-chair of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership Caucus.

Congressman Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation, serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the bicameral Joint Economic Committee, and is co-chair of the Congressional Medical Technology Caucus.
