Paulsen Announces Art Contest for Local High School Students

Washington, D.C.– Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) announced the 2015 Congressional Art Competition, a nationwide high school art contest sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives, is now open for local high school students. Students in grades 9-12 that live or go to school in the Third Congressional District are eligible to participate. All submitted entries will be displayed at the Bloomington Theatre and Art Center for two weeks in April.

The winner of the art contest has the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. for a June reception. Their artwork will then be displayed at the U.S. Capitol Building for a full year. Programs exist to provide airfare for the winning student and a guest.

Students interested in participating must contact Alex Stanford at alex.stanford@mail.house.gov by March 25 if they intend to participate. Artwork is due by April 7.

Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation, serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the bicameral Joint Economic Committee, and is co-chair of the Congressional Medical Technology Caucus.
