Last week, the House celebrated Earth Day early, passing S. 535, the Energy Efficiency Improvement Act of 2015. This bill is a market-driven solution that encourages energy efficiency in appliances and commercial buildings, instead of punishing those who aren’t able to comply with unrealistic standards.
This afternoon, President Obama signed S. 535 into law, a practice he’s become accustomed to ever since Republicans took control of both chambers of Congress in January. Through four months of 2015, nine bills have been signed into law, something rarely seen in past years under Democratic leadership in the Senate.
Working together. Passing bipartisan legislation. Advancing solutions that help hardworking Americans. These are actions you will continue to see from Republican leadership in Washington.
