McConnell: Time for the President to Consider Delaying Obamacare

‘And when a visit to the Obamacare website makes a trip to the DMV seem pleasant, it’s time for the President to consider delaying this rushed effort.’

October 21, 2013

LOUISVILLE, KY -- U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made the following statement Monday on the Obama administration’s broken promises and rushed effort on Obamacare:

“Another campaign-style event won’t solve the myriad problems facing consumers under Obamacare. For months, the American people have been learning about the impact Obamacare will have on individuals and families in the form of higher premiums, disrupted insurance, and lost jobs—more broken promises from the administration. Obamacare costs too much and it’s not working the way they promised. And when a visit to the Obamacare website makes a trip to the DMV seem pleasant, it’s time for the President to consider delaying this rushed effort.”

Louisville, K.Y. – U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell issued the following statement today regarding the passing of former House Speaker Thomas S. Foley:

“Elaine and I mourn the passing of former Speaker of the House Tom Foley. Tom’s long and distinguished service to the people of eastern Washington and his subsequent service as a diplomat have not been forgotten. Tom Foley had a hard-earned reputation for fairness even among his ideological adversaries, and the entire Senate extends its condolences to Heather and the entire Foley family.”
