This morning, the House Committee on the Judiciary held a hearing on the unconstitutionality of President Obama’s executive overreach on immigration. One of the Committee members, former federal prosecutor Trey Gowdy (R-SC), used his 5-minute opening to articulate a rock solid case against the President’s unilateral actions.
Below are 7 quotes that define Rep. Gowdy’s argument:
1. “The law is both a shield and a sword, and it is the foundation upon which this republic stands.”
2. “Attempts to undermine the law via executive fiat, regardless of motivation, are detrimental to the foundation of a democracy.”
