WASHINGTON — Several Republicans Thursday heaped blame on the Obama administration for the failure of more than half of the cooperatives set up under the health law to infuse competition into the insurance market.
Never in my lifetime did I think I would open an app on my phone and, within minutes, have an on-demand car service pick me up and take me where I want to go. Unfortunately, while I can access this service when I am in places like Washington D.C., New York City and many other cities around the nation, I can’t when I am home in Western New York.
In what has become the new normal, President Obama has once again moved the goalposts during his foreign policy negotiations. By doing so, the administration has put America and its allies at risk, while empowering one of our fiercest enemies.

A federal lawmaker is proposing to ban bankruptcy trustees from trying to claw back tuition money from universities and, in some cases, college students themselves—a legal maneuver that can arise in a parent’s bankruptcy case.
Good for Chris Collins. The congressman from Clarence was one of only 75 Republicans to vote to fund the Department of Homeland Security rather than hold a critical governmental office hostage to a suicide charge against President Obama’s administrative orders on immigration.
“I came here to govern,” Collins said Tuesday. “I didn’t come here to lurch from crisis to crisis.”
