Maloney welcomes the re-lighting of the Carl Schurz Park Menorah

New  York, NY - Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney joined East Siders in celebrating the renewal of the menorah in Carl Schurz Park that had been vandalized Sunday night:

“It is deeply disturbing to me that someone would purposely try to destroy a symbol of Chanukah, and I am delighted that the menorah has been rebuilt and relit.  I hope, in keeping with this festival of lights and the undaunted spirit of the Macabees, the renewed menorah will demonstrate our unwillingness to give in to the forces of darkness and anti-Semitism who tried to dim our holiday spirit.”
