As you’ve heard by now, the Supreme Court upheld the individual mandate and most other major portions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in its ruling yesterday.
This is truly good news for a nation that needs it.

As the new year begins, so, too, does the second session of the 112th Congress. Eventually. In fact, the session will not begin until January 17-- and the House is only scheduled to be in session for a grand total of six days this month.

The current session of Congress is ending after a year in which the conservative House majority passed a budget which would have (had it passed the Senate) ended Medicare as we know it, repeatedly tried to limit a woman's right to choose, and held a routine debt-limit increase hostage to an extreme agenda.
