WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Tim Murphy (PA-18), a steadfast supporter of the State of Israel, America’s firmest and most democratic Middle East ally, released the following statement on the upcoming UN vote on an anti-Israel resolution that calls for an immediate end to Israeli settlement activity:

“The anti-Israel statements of the United Nations do nothing to stabilize the region, and in fact will only cause harm. Peace between the Israelis and Palestinians will only come through direct negotiations between the parties. If the United Nations sincerely wants to ensure peace and stability, they should call for a two-state solution and hold both parties accountable to share the responsibility of resolving the conflicts. As it is now, the UN’s anti-Israel resolution puts Israel in a poor negotiating position and therefore should be vetoed.”
