Over 70 Democratic and Republican Members of No Labels' Congressional Problem Solvers Coalition to Offer Unique, First-of-its-Kind Presentation to Unveil Bipartisan Legislative Package Called Make Government Work!

Mark your calendar – on Thursday, July 18, at 11 a.m., EST, more than 70 Democratic and Republican members of Congress from both chambers will announce a legislative reform package of nine bills in a first-of-its-kind format to clearly demonstrate the trust-building priorities of the new group.

"Lately, it has been pretty rare to see Democrats and Republicans even saying a nice word about one another, let alone coming together on the grounds of the Capitol," said Rep. Reid Ribble (R-WI). "But that's what you'll see on July 18 when more than 70 members of our Problem Solvers coalition gather to make a significant announcement."

The Make Government Work! package features nine common-sense bills designed to make government more efficient, effective and less wasteful. Make Government Work! represents the first legislative package by the No Labels Problem Solvers coalition. It's a first step, but it's a big step toward restoring trust between lawmakers and eventually strengthening the American people's trust in our nation's leaders.

"This event warrants the attention of everyone in Washington because of what it means for the progress of our country," said Rep. Ami Bera (D-CA). "Our announcement will provide a template for how Democrats and Republicans can work together, regardless of party, to solve problems and move our country forward."

"Like most hardworking Americans, I want Washington to stop wasting tax dollars. And despite real and significant differences on many issues, members of both parties – the Problem Solvers – have found common ground on some common sense measures that will make the federal government more responsive and efficient," said Rep. Tim Griffin (R-AR). "It's a big step in the right direction."

No Labels introduced the inaugural group of 24 congressional Problem Solvers in January. Since then, the coalition has more than tripled in size to 79 members.

"Voters are frustrated and have sent each and every one of us to Congress with a clear mandate: break through the partisan gridlock and get things done. Building trust and meaningful relationships across party lines must be the starting point for that to happen," said Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI). "The Problem Solvers group is bringing people together, from across the political spectrum, to have open, honest discussions to find solutions to the challenges that affect every one of our communities."
