CONGRESSMAN PITTENGER’S STATEMENT ON ARMED FORCES DAY

CHARLOTTE – Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09), Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, issued this statement in remembrance of Armed Forces Day:

“Today, on Armed Forces Day, we pay honor and tribute to our valiant soldiers who have protected our freedoms for the past 240 years. God bless our soldiers, and may God also bless our veterans, hundreds of thousands of whom are still struggling with physical and mental recovery from war, and those still seeking good employment.

“This week, I joined the U.S. House of Representatives in passing $610 billion to fund vital national defense needs, including increased funding for military training and readiness, providing a well-deserved pay raise for our troops, and improving the military health care system.
