The rising cost of health care is a huge problem facing our nation. Unfortunately, the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as ObamaCare, only serves to exacerbate the issue by further contributing to higher premiums, creating more barriers to care, and adding more money to our growing deficit. Instead of increasing competition, removing bureaucratic red tape, and focusing on the doctor patient relationship, the Affordable Care Act did exactly the opposite while creating a massive new entitlement program which we cannot afford.
I am committed to repealing this harmful legislation and replacing it with common sense, small government reforms with increase access to health care and lower costs for middle class families.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO-02) released the below statement following the House of Representatives’ 240-181 vote to pass the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015:
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO-O2) took to the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to urge her colleagues to vote in favor of defunding Planned Parenthood. Later today, the House will vote on the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015, which includes a provision to defund the organization.

It’s heartbreaking to meet a grandmother whose retirement travel plans have been cut short by the onset of ALS or talk to a young mother of three who at age 32 is dying from incurable heart disease.
