Beatty Kicks Off Support for National Small Business Week

Weeklong initiative highlights the importance of American small businesses

Washington, D.C. – This year, National Small Business Week (NSBW) will be celebrated from May 1st to May 7th. For 53 consecutive years, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation recognizing NSBW and the important contributions of small business owners. In recognition of NSBW, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:    

“Small businesses are the backbone to our economy. In fact, more than half of all Americans either own or work for a small business—which create almost two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year,” Beatty said. “During National Small Business Week, I encourage my constituents, fellow Ohioans and all Americans to join me in honoring the nearly 28 million small businesses and the 120 million Americans who make Main Street strong.” Beatty continued, “As a small business owner, I will continue my commitment in Congress to America’s small businesses.”
