Life
As penned in the Declaration of Independence, our forefathers founded America with the strong belief that individuals are “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.” Among those is the right to life, which influences my commitment to protecting the most vulnerable, including the unborn.
Throughout my service in the U.S. House of Representatives, I have voted in support of life and currently have a 100 percent pro-life voting record. In the days ahead, I will continue to support the sanctity of life with every vote I cast.

Community health centers are typically held in high regard and enjoy widespread, bipartisan support in Congress. So last week’s revelation that three such facilities in New York had allowed AmeriCorps volunteers to assist in abortion procedures was especially disturbing. Specifically within the AmeriCorps Community HealthCorps program, AmeriCorps volunteers were instructed and trained by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) to act as “doulas” during abortions.
The release of a series of videos that have exposed the despicable backroom practices at Planned Parenthood and which documented disturbing conversations with some of its employees have caused Americans to question the federal funding the organization receives. Without question, I share the same disgust of the utter disregard for unborn human life demonstrated by the organization’s sale of aborted body parts in the videos. Like many others across the nation, I certainly do not believe that taxpayers should foot the bill for any of Planned Parenthood’s expenses.
