Dallas, TX –Today, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, hosted a mobile town hall to talk and listen to the residents of the DFW Metroplex on what Congress can do to work on their behalf on a host of issues, including jobs and the economy, constituent services, and what legislation can help curb senseless acts of gun violence.

Congressman Veasey Hauls DFW Trash

Fort Worth, TX – On Thursday, June 30, 2016, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, will join the sanitation crew at Knight Waste Services to collect trash and recycling for Fort Worth area residents. As part of his ‘Marc Means Business’ work day, Veasey will learn how to operate and ride-along in a back loader garbage truck, pick up trash and recycling bins curbside, and learn more about what it takes to work a morning shift under the Texas heat.

Veasey Applauds Department of Education’s Selection of DFW College For Second-Chance Pell Grant Pilot

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, released the following statement after the Supreme Court’s 4-4 decision on the President’s Immigration Executive Actions: 

“Today’s decision from the Supreme Court’s Immigration Executive Actions on expanded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA), is a major blow to the millions of immigrant undocumented families who continue to live in the shadows.

Rep. Veasey Introduces Bill to End Modern Day Poll Tax

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey, co-chairman of the Congressional Voting Rights Caucus, introduced H.R. 5557, The Poll Tax Prohibition Act, to ensure the underlying costs of restrictive photo voter ID laws don’t prevent everyday Americans from exercising their right to vote. Three years after the Shelby County v. Holder decision gutted the 1965 Voting Rights Act, Rep. Veasey remains committed to protecting voters from the modern day poll tax.
