‘The only reason this issue isn’t already resolved — the only reason — is that the President wants to keep it alive. He thinks it benefits him politically for college students to believe we’re the problem. It’s time to stop the games. It’s time for the President to act.’
This regulation would expand the already massive powers given to the EPA by increasing red tape and costing the taxpayer over $10 billion dollars each year. In Kentucky alone, it threatens the jobs of over 1,400 people working in aluminum smelter plants as well as approximately 18,000 coal miners, not to mention those engaged in industries that support these jobs.’

Washington, D.C.U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell announced today that Governor Scott Walker (R-WI) will deliver the weekly Republican address Saturday.

“Gov. Walker’s outstanding record of fiscal responsibility clearly demonstrates his commitment to public service and the people of Wisconsin,” said Sen. McConnell. “Gov. Walker’s account of his life as an ordinary citizen who went on to achieve something quite extraordinary is an inspiration to us all.”

"I appreciate the opportunity to talk about how we are transforming Wisconsin from the job loss in the past to the job growth we see today,” said Gov. Walker.  “Moving forward I will continue to be a vocal supporter of improving the economy in our states and our country."

Gov. Walker was elected as County Executive in 2002 and in his eight years of service cut the county's debt by 30 percent and recorded a budget surplus despite failing national and state economies. Gov. Walker was inaugurated as Wisconsin’s 45th governor in 2011 and on June 5, 2012, won Wisconsin’s historic recall election–– making him the first governor in United States history to survive a recall attempt.
