Cramer Responds to State of the Union Address

Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Kevin Cramer released the following statement in response to President Obama’s State of the Union Address tonight.

“While this was President Obama’s final State of the Union Address, I had hoped he would outline concrete plans to work with Congress to win the war on Islamic terrorism and defeat ISIS.  Unfortunately, the speech turned into liberal pep rally for more government spending and programs.

The President's continued support of an extreme environmental agenda threatens our nation's energy future. We cannot build a sound energy policy by eliminating coal and oil in favor of green energy programs.

It is time we acknowledge government is not the solution to the problems facing our nation.  During the next year I stand ready to work with the President and my colleagues to advance programs and policies which empower the individual and reduce the size of government.”
