Congressman Vargas is proud to be a member of the following committees:

Committee on Financial Services

The Committee on Financial Services has jurisdiction over banks and banking, including deposit insurance and Federal monetary policy; economic stabilization, defense production, renegotiation, and control of the price commodities, rents, and services; financial aid to commerce and industry (other than transportation); insurance generally; international finance; international financial monetary organizations; money and credit, including currency and the issuance of notes and redemption therof-gold and silver, including in the coinage thereof- valuation and revaluation of the dollar; public and private housing; securities and exchanges; and urban development.  

Committee on House Administration

The Committee on House Administration oversees the administrative functions of the House of Representatives, including: management of the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institution, travel of members of Congress, federal elections, House office spaces and security, staffer salaries and human resources, purchases of works of art for the Capitol, and the Botanic Gardens.
