Walz Advocates for All-American Energy Future in Oronoco

Tours local solar energy projects, touts jobs and cost savings for consumers

Washington, DC [5/27/15] – Representative Tim Walz toured four solar energy projects in Oronoco today  with local business owner and entrepreneur, Cliff Kaehler, of Novel Energy Solutions, and talked about the potential for jobs and consumer savings in clean energy.

“Our country was founded on an entrepreneurial spirit. A spirit that can turn a vision into reality and change the way we live our daily lives,” Walz said. “Southern Minnesota is leading the country in this regard and is working actively to change the way we live our lives for the better. And make no mistake, using innovative energy solutions and moving towards an all-American energy future will create jobs here at home and save consumers money, while, at the same time, increasing our national security and decreasing our reliance foreign energy. I thank Novel Energy Solutions for having me here today to see first-hand how solar energy is working to make our homes and businesses more efficient.”

Walz has been a leader on energy issues in Congress, introducing comprehensive legislation in each Congress known as the American Energy Opportunity Act. This legislation would invest royalty payments from off-shore drilling into clean energy technology, while repairing our crumbling infrastructure at the same time. He plans on re-introducing the legislation in the near future.

Founded in 2012 by Cliff Kaehler, Ralph Kaehler, and Bill Holzer, Novel Energy Solutions works to make inexpensive clean energy available to farms, companies, non-profit organizations, and individuals alike.

Before founding Novel Energy Solutions, St. Charles native Cliff Kaehler, 26, was working full time on Wall Street after graduating cum laude from Georgetown University. Seeing the opportunities that renewable energy had for Minnesota, and a desire to start his own business, Cliff decided to return home to SE Minnesota and become an entrepreneur. What was once only a dream, Novel Energy Solutions is a growing business with over a dozen employees.
