Press Release
U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) announced today that the House Democratic Leadership has selected her to serve on the powerful House Appropriations Committee.

The committee is responsible for funding every federal agency, program, and project within the United States government.

“It is an honor to have been chosen for this critical committee and I thank my colleagues for selecting me,” said Meng. “We must do all we can to create jobs, grow our economy, rebuild our infrastructure, invest in education and provide resources to improve the lives of all Americans – particularly here in Queens – and I will work tirelessly to make that happen as a member of this important and influential committee.”

“Every day, Congresswoman Grace Meng fights for America’s children, seniors, students, small business owners and workers,” said House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. “All hard-working families have a strong champion in Congresswoman Meng. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, she will bring her trademark tenacity, vision and insight to create policies to ensure all communities have the resources needed to build a better future.”

Meng, who has represented Queens in Congress since 2013, was sworn in for her third term on Tuesday.
