LaMalfa Rejects President Obama’s Comments on Israel and PM Netanyahu

Washington, DC - Representative Doug LaMalfa (R-CA) and 26 of his House colleagues sent a letter today to President Barack Obama urging the President to reconsider his recent statements on Israel and a potential peace agreement with the Palestinian Authority.

“When President Obama makes statements that are unnecessarily critical of Israel, it creates space between us and one of our most trusted allies,” said LaMalfa. “Prime Minister Netanyahu and his government have made it clear that they are committed to the peace process as long as the Palestinian Authority is willing to make some very basic concessions -- such as recognizing Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish State. For President Obama to act as if Prime Minister Netanyahu is placing too many conditions on future peace talks is irresponsible and wrong. America’s support for Israel must be unwavering, especially during these dangerous times."
