Earlier this week, the House passed S.J. Res. 22, Congressional Disapproval of the “Waters of the United States” (#WOTUS) Rule.
This resolution was proposed in response to the Obama Administration’s latest unilateral act, the WOTUS Rule, which allows the Environmental Protection Agency to dictate restrictions on the way Americans use their private property.
#OnThisDay in 1791, the #BillofRights was ratified and the first 10 Amendments were added to the United States Constitution.
Earlier this year, Rep. Tom Reed introduced the Defense of Property Rights Act, which protects landowners from unreasonable government seizure of private #property. This ensures that “no person shall be deprived of… property, without due process of law” as guaranteed by the 5th Amendment.
