OLSON REACTS TO MORE WHITE HOUSE PROMISES

Washington, DC - Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today issued the following statement in response to President Obama's announcement of a voluntary one year extension of current health insurance policies:

"President Obama cannot unilaterally change components of the law as a political fix because he broke a promise to the American people. The marketplace has been completely overturned by Obamacare. Without a change to the law passed by Congress, it's unclear if the insurance companies can legally act. 

"Furthermore, can we really take this President at his word after so many promises have been broken? A one year extension only delays the inevitable loss of choice and control over healthcare decisions. What America needs is a full repeal of Obamacare. Then we can work together and provide healthcare reform that protects choice for all Americans along with access to affordable care."
