KARE: Veterans Day in Inver Grove Heights
Since joining the Senate, Sen. Al Franken has worked hard to ensure that we keep our promises to the men and women who serve in the military. He's honored Minnesota veterans by helping them receive long overdue medals, he's written legislation to protect those who are serving abroad and to make sure they can get the benefits they rightfully earned after returning home, and he been a strong advocate for military families.
At this year's Minnesota State Veterans Day Ceremony in Inver Grove Heights, Sen. Franken reminded everyone in attendance that we all need to step up for our veterans, who have sacrificed for the country and deserve to be both recognized and supported.

"On this day we are reminded of the bravery of those who are with us and those are not. Also, the gratidude that goes beyond just one day.
'It's up to us to make sure that the second life you [veterans] have when you come back is full and rich and happy,' said Sen. Franken."
