Washington, D.C. – This week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed 18 bills to ensure that Americans have the resources they need to fight the nationwide opioid epidemic.  This public health crisis affects Americans from all walks of life, at all ages, in all communities, and the bills we passed address the opioid epidemic effects on all Americans from veterans to newborns.  These pieces of legislation will now be combined with the Senate-approved Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act of 2016.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mimi Walters (CA-45) today released the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015, which would repeal Obamacare and defund Planned Parenthood. H.R. 3762 passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 240-181 and now heads to the President’s desk. This is the first time an Obamacare repeal bill has reached the President’s desk.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mimi Walters (CA-45) released the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 160, the Protect Medical Innovation Act of 2015. This bill would repeal Obamacare’s 2.3% excise tax on the medical device industry. H.R. 160 passed in the U.S. House by a vote of 280-140 and now awaits consideration by the U.S. Senate.

H.R. 2207 would repeal the $2,500 cap on FSAs put in place by Obamacare and allow Americans to save for future health care costs in preparation for the upcoming King v. Burwell ruling. If the Supreme Court rules in favor of the plaintiff,  millions of Americans could lose their health care subsidies and be faced with staggering costs.
