Washington, D.C. – This week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed 18 bills to ensure that Americans have the resources they need to fight the nationwide opioid epidemic. This public health crisis affects Americans from all walks of life, at all ages, in all communities, and the bills we passed address the opioid epidemic effects on all Americans from veterans to newborns. These pieces of legislation will now be combined with the Senate-approved Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act of 2016.

This bill would repeal Obamacare’s 2.3% excise tax on the medical device industry. H.R. 160 passed in the U.S. House by a vote of 280-140 and now awaits consideration by the U.S. Senate.
