This week I proudly joined the people of Dallas in honoring our police chief, David Brown. It is with mixed emotion that Dallas says goodbye to Chief Brown after 33 years of service with the Dallas Police Department. For more than three decades, Chief Brown has devoted himself to the protection of our citizens and the betterment of our city.

When the president rolled out ObamaCare he promised the American people that they could keep their preferred doctor, stay on their current healthcare plan, and their healthcare costs would decrease. After six years of this law, we know that is simply not the case.

This week I was delighted to welcome the eight Republican members of the Rules Committee to the 32nd Congressional District for a panel discussion at the Bush Institute. We had a robust discussion with 150 members of the Dallas business and education community about our role as members of the Rules Committee and how we work to best represent the views of our constituents.
