This week, President Obama is going around the country to re-hash some of the themes from his State of the Union. I have a better idea: how about he start apologizing for the last seven years?
I’ve decided to help the president by highlighting some of the lowlights that he should address. I’ve also taken the liberty of assisting the president’s speech writers by putting this in a speech format for him:
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas) today released the following statement after the nonpartisan CBO (Congressional Budget Office) estimated “The labor force is projected to be about 2 million full-time-equivalent workers smaller in 2025 under the ACA (Affordable Care Act) than it would have been otherwise.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas) today voted for the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (H.R.2) that would enact a permanent “doc fix” for Medicare reimbursement for health care providers. The bill would also fund a program to provide health insurance for children from low income families and extend the Community Health Centers program.
Under the control of Senate Democrats, “The Senate went three months this spring without voting on a single legislative amendment, the nitty-gritty kind of work usually at the heart of congressional lawmaking,” The Washington Post reports. “So few bills have been approved this year, and so little else has gotten done, that many senators say they are spending most of their time on insignificant and unrewarding work.”
Today, the White House announced its latest delay in the implementation of the President’s healthcare law, delaying the employer mandate for a second year. Congressman Roger Williams (RTX-25) issued the following statement after the announcement.

Today, Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) called for reforms in Medicare reimbursement procedures after a Texas news report revealed a local hospital was unable to pay dozens of its employees over Christmas.
As you know, the House passed a two-year budget deal authored by House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan and Senate Budget Committee Chairman Patty Murray. I supported this bill because I believe it is important to get on a budget process that cuts spending, helps the military, reduces the deficit, doesn’t raise taxes, and stops the pattern of passing CR after CR. This Congress and administration have done so for the last five years. That’s not good for business.
Recently, President Obama said during a speech on his healthcare law that “If you’ve got good ideas, bring them to me…[if] you still think this law is a bad idea then you’ve got to tell us specifically what you’d do differently to cut costs, cover more people, make insurance more secure.” Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) issued the following statement in response to the President’s request.
Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) released the following statement today after the House passed H.R. 3350, the Keep Your Healthcare Plan. The House voted 261-157 in favor of the bill, including 39 House Democrats.
