Olson Applauds Court Ruling on Hydraulic Fracturing

Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today issued the following statement in support of a federal court ruling that determined that the Interior Department lacks the authority to regulate hydraulic fracturing on federal lands:

“I applaud this court ruling that rightfully determined that thanks to a law passed by Congress, the Interior Department does not have any authority to regulate hydraulic fracturing. This court ruling tells the Obama Administration that their attempts to stymie our strong American energy economy aren’t lawful and must be stopped. States know best what kind of oversight is needed, not a one-size-fits-all federal mandate.”
