Congressman Hultgren Elevated to Leadership Position on Financial Services Committee

Washington, DC — U.S. Representative Randy Hultgren (IL-14) was elevated to Vice-Chairman of the Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Securities and Investment on the House Financial Services Committee for the 115th Congress. The influential subcommittee has jurisdiction over capital markets, capital formation, venture capital, market structure and securities, including the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

“There has never been a more important time for our work on the Financial Services Committee. It is time to unleash the power of small businesses to access the capital they need to hire and expand, to free families to invest for the future, to support farmers planning for uncertainty, to help students and their families planning for college, and to restore the ability of community banks and credit unions to adequately provide services to the businesses and families with whom they have long-standing relationships,” said Rep. Hultgren. “Our unified government now has the opportunity reverse the unnecessarily burdensome policies that have hurt Americans and failed to address the root causes of the financial crisis.
