Gibbs Applauds Funding for Canton Police

WASHINGTON, DC – In today’s announcement from the Department of Justice, the City of Canton will receive over one million dollars in funding to hire and train nine new police officers. The COPS Hiring Program provides funding to state and local law enforcement agencies to increase policing capacity.

Responding to the announcement, Congressman Bob Gibbs released the following statement:

“Our neighborhoods need the safety and security that a well-staffed and well-trained police department can provide. The men and women of Canton’s Police Department do an outstanding job every day. They deserve to have the resources and support to ensure they can perform their duties to the best of their ability. I am pleased to announce that Canton will receive over $1 million in funding to protect our families and neighbors.”
