Mike Bost, an Illinois Republican, speaks to thousands of retired coal miners who came to Washington by the busloads to push lawmakers to vote on a bill that would save their pension and health care benefits.
“Upgrading and maintaining critical infrastructure in communities all across Southern Illinois is paramount for providing the quality of life our residents expect and deserve,” Bost said in the release. “With this funding, a new wastewater treatment plant will not only provide improved drinking water but also alleviate potential health hazards.”
The announcement came from Rep. Mike Bost’s office last week. According to Bost, St. Clair as well as Franklin, Williamson and Pulaski counties are set to receive $3.2 million in federal grants or loans for rural developments through the Community Facility Grant program by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
