Oversight
Americans expect and deserve a government transparent and accountable to the people. The relationship between the government and the governed is based on trust. Unfortunately we have seen a serious deterioration of trust when government has not fulfilled these principles.
In the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, we work to hold government accountable to taxpayers because Americans deserve to know their money is well spent and their government is operating as efficiently and effectively as possible. We work to achieve these goals by conducting investigations, reforming the federal bureaucracy, and then reporting the results of the Committee’s work to the American people. This transparency will help hold the government accountable.
