Internships
Interning for Congressman Woodall in Washington, D.C.
In my Washington, D.C. office, internships run in three separate terms (the fall, spring or summer semesters) for college students and recent graduates. Through the various tasks that interns are assigned, they gain invaluable work experience and knowledge of the legislative process. In Washington, DC, interns' responsibilities will vary. They will be asked to answer constituent phone calls, provide Capitol tours, research legislation for the legislative staff, attend hearings and briefings, and answer constituent letters on various issues before Congress. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a Congressional office.

Internships in my District office provide Seventh District college students with an opportunity to see first-hand the process and importance of individual constituent service. The first – and greatest – responsibility I have as a U.S. Representative is to serve the people of the Seventh District – irrespective of issue or politics. That begins with what we do right here at home on a daily basis. Interns may be asked to do a variety of tasks to assist this effort, including answering constituent phone calls, greeting guests, and assisting in administrative tasks. In addition, interns will assist staff with special projects and research assignments.
Applications for my Lawrenceville office are accepted throughout the year with internships being granted based upon application qualifications and availability.
