Committees

In the 114th Congress, Congressman Jim Costa serves on two powerful House Committees: the Committee on Agriculture and the Committee on Natural Resources.

On the Committee on Agriculture, Costa serves as Ranking Member on the Livestock and Foreign Agriculture subcommittee. He also serves on the General Farm Commodities and Risk Management subcommittee.

For the Committee on Natural Resources,  the Congressman serves on the Water, Power and Ocean Subcommittee and the Energy and Mineral Resources Subcommittee. Congressman Costa's appointment gives his constituents a voice on water issues, such as water resources planning, research and development and irrigation programs, as well as mining, oil, and gas.

Along with his committee assignments, Costa was co-chair of the Congressional Victims' Rights Caucus, the Natural Gas Caucus, and the Specialty Crop Caucus. Costa is a member of the following Congressional Caucuses among others:
