Congressman Luke Messer Votes to Build the Keystone XL Pipeline

Messer Votes in Favor of the Northern Route Approval Act

(Washington, D.C.)—Wednesday night, the U.S. House of Representatives approved H.R. 3, the Northern Route Approval Act.  Congressman Luke Messer gave the following statement:

“It is long past the time to begin building the Keystone pipeline. It is vital to our national security that our country becomes energy independent.  To do that, we need an all of the above energy policy and the Keystone XL pipeline is important piece of the puzzle

Not only do we need to be energy independent but we need to kick start our economy.  It is estimated that the Keystone pipeline will bring between 20,000 and 40,000 new jobs to Americans who need them.

It is crucial that we stop stalling and get our country back to work and on the path to energy independence.”
