JOHNSON, Zeake W., Jr., a Sergeant at Arms from Tennessee; born in Dyersburg, Dyer County, Tenn., April 2, 1910; United States Coast Guard, 1942–1945; assistant Sergeant at Arms, United States House of Representatives, 1937–1942; Sergeant at Arms for the 1968 Democratic National Convention; elected Sergeant at Arms of the United States House of Representatives for the Eighty-fourth and for the seven succeeding Congresses, until his resignation on September 30, 1972 (January 5, 1955–September 30, 1972); died on January 10, 1992, in Newbern, Tenn.; interment in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
