BONSELL, William R., a Sergeant at Arms from Pennsylvania; born in Huntingdon, Huntingdon County, Pa., October 1, 1918; B.S., Juniata College, Huntingdon, Pa., 1941; attended Thompson Business College, Harrisburg, Pa., 1950–1951; United States Army, 1941–1945; staff, Office of the Clerk, United States House of Representatives, 1947–1949; staff, Pennsylvania auditor general, 1949–1952; staff, Senate Committee on Appropriations, 1952–1953; appointed Sergeant at Arms of the United States House of Representatives for the Eighty-third Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of interim Sergeant at Arms Lyle O. Snader (September 15, 1953– January 5, 1955); Minority Sergeant at Arms, United States House of Representatives, 1955–1964; Minority Doorkeeper, United States House of Representatives, 1965–1975; resided in Florida.
